“Mala Kolan” is a hilarious opera-style drama based on “Kolam” dance style and was directed by S. Karunaratna and Jayasri Chandrajith and was written by S. Karunaratna, who was Sri Lankan State Drama Award Winner. It is a presentation of Rangana & Udumbara Dance Troupe.
Once upon a time there lived a king and a queen. The queen had a secret affair with the chief minister and framed a conspiracy to kill the king. Amongst those involved there were some innocent civilians. These innocent civilians were dramatically tangled in the web created by the queen. The king was aware of the devious occurrences playing before his eyes and hence, demonstrated his authority through action.
